About MePhilosophy
Art is a universal and basic language for all civilizations. It conveys knowledge and meaning not learned through the study of other subjects. In art we learn about humanity, starting with the human we know best, ourself. We learn about what you see when you look at the world around us; that the world we see may not be the world others see. We are all unique and yet we are alike enough to understand the work of a person half a world and 1000 years away. Research has shown that education in the arts helps students in creative thinking skills, problem solving, and self-management, which in turn helps get students ready for college and work. Not only do the arts require self-discipline, creativity, and confidence to succeed, but these and other important habits stay with students and help them succeed in other areas of school, life, and work.
